The historic day for Scenic World, on Friday, March 29, will continue the Hammon family’s journey to create unforgettable nature-based experiences for the Blue Mountains.
Through the $30 million redevelopment visitors will experience the new thrills of the timelessly-designed carriages on refreshed tracks for the steepest railway decent in the world.
The major project also has a new winch system, RFID technology wristbands replacing tickets and two new interactive platforms which feature a permanent historical exhibition that will continue to be introduced during the coming months.
The track spans 310m through a cliff-side tunnel and the ancient rainforest. The train takes 84 passengers and operates every 10 minutes.
The new Scenic Railway will also add a new dimension for visitors experiencing Sculpture at Scenic World between April 24 and May 19, 2013.
