Experience delicious seasonal produce of the region at TomahROMA food and wine fair

Sample delicious food, wine and crafts delights of the Blue Mountains and Central West region at the annual TomahROMA autumn food and wine fair at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah, on Saturday, April 27.

This year the garden will host about 30 stallholders from the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and wider regions as well as a theatrical treat for children and the 25-piece Leichardt Celebrity Brass Band.

Fresh juice and cider from Bilpin apples, wine from Mudgee, handmade bags from Woodford, cupcakes from Penrith and plants propagated by the Growing Friends, volunteers at the garden: just a small taste of the variety of lovingly made regional produce visitors will be able to sample and buy. Live music and refreshment stalls will add to a lively vibe and fun day out for all. Perfect for finding a unique gift.

As a special treat for children, the Eaton Gorge Theatre Company will perform Tree Tales. Join Bloss the Ghost Gum and Iron the Iron Bark Tree during this fun interactive performance as they sing songs and recite poetry illustrating the importance of trees to the environment. Coose from the 11am – 12pm or the 1pm – 2pm session with roving characters in between. Cost: $15 per child for children aged 3-12 years. Bookings essential.

Discover the many horticultural delights within the 252ha grounds on a free guided tour departing regularly from the visitor centre. Run by volunteer guides, the tours will focus on the seasonal autumn highlights of the garden.

Barbi Lock Lee’s exhibition of delicate ceramics can be viewed in the visitor centre until May 19 (free entry). Featuring native birds and delicate designs, it is themed around “Afternoon tea at the garden” and features cake stands, milk jugs and traditional teaware with a vintage twist.

The fair will be set against the bright autumnal colours of the turning garden, which in itself attracts thousands of visitors throughout autumn.

TomahROMA celebrates the regional producers of the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and wider districts and is part of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust’s Autumn in Your Gardens festival. Set against the beauty of the stunning cool climate garden, TomahROMA has built a strong following with food and garden lovers alike during the past nine years.

TomahROMA will be held at Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Bells Line of Rd, Mount Tomah, from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, April 27. Entry is free to TomahROMA. Tree Details and Tree Tales bookings: or (02) 4567 3000.
