Celebrate the halcyon days of opulent architecture, fashion, jazz music and dancing with the annual Roaring 20s Festival and all that Jazz at venues throughout the Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon region from February 1 to 22.

Events will include Trains, Trams & Model-T’s at Valley Heights Locomotive Heritage Museum; Birds, Bees & Backyards in the 1920s at Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah; Roaring into a `20s Costume Drama at the Carrington Hotel; Tango at the famous Paragon; Highlands Steam and Vintage Fair at Oberon; a community ball at Lithgow; Blue Mountains Ukelele Festival at The Carrington Hotel; Mallet Sports on the Lawn at Blackheath Croquet Club; and a retro cocktail party and dinner dance at Everglades Historic House and Gardens.

One of the most popular highlights will be the Blue Mountains Charleston Challenge attempt to break the 2013 Guinness World Record for the largest number of costumed people dancing the Charleston on Saturday, February 1, along with the annual Automobile Picnic in Leura Mall featuring vintage cars and the Leura Long Lunch.

The www.roaring20s.com.au website is currently undergoing a revamp so be sure to check back regularly for updates on events, fresh images and to book and register for events.

* The Roaring 20s Festival and all that Jazz has a very special supporter for 2014 but we’re not telling who was the focus of a photo shoot at Everglades Historic House and Gardens at Leura on Tuesday, November 5. We want you to guess who it is.

We have a rare and sought-after double ticket to the oh-so-posh Art Deco Ball at The Carrington Hotel to give away to one lucky couple.
To be in the running to win, simply jot down the name of who you think our popular personality is (make sure you also add your name, daytime phone number and email address) and drop it into the competition entry box at the Everglades Historic House and Gardens, 37 Everglades Ave, Leura, tearooms (Entry: $10 adults, $8 concession, $4 children, National Trust members free).
The competition will be drawn at 12pm on Friday, November 22, at Everglades. The first correct answer to be drawn will win. The winner will be contacted by phone and via email. Winners must be available to attend the ball in 1920s costume on Saturday, February 1, and be aged 18 years or older. Judges decision is final.
