The Blue Mountains is a vibrant hub of non-stop activity, with something to see and do at all times for everyone of all ages, budgets and fitness levels whether they are visitors or locals.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s on this weekend (December 6 to 8, 2013):

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6

Katoomba RSL: The Blue Mountains Benefit Concert at Katoomba RSL, Lurline St, Katoomba, will feature Blue Mountains hip hop/electronic alumni musicians, which have banded together for one show only. Doors open 7pm. Details: (02) 4782 2624.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7

Hazelbrook Carols by Candlelight (7pm to 9.30pm): This annual family Christmas event will be held at Gloria Park, Hazelbrook.

Carols in the Gardens, Norman Lindsay Gallery, 14 Norman Lindsay Cres, Faulconbridge (7pm to 9pm): Join Hawkesbury Choir as it sings popular Christmas carols.

Carols Mt Victoria Public School, Mount Victoria (6pm to 8pm): Also includes a sausage sizzle and activities for children.

The Banquet of Dreams Festival, Katoomba Aquatic Centre (7.30pm to 10.30pm): The Hearts, Hands & Feet performance will include Calabash West African music and dance, Ghawazi Caravan, King Parrot Samba, Graham King and more.

Love Your Sister, Weirder the Better Circus Shop, Katoomba St, Katoomba (11am to 1pm): Samuel Johnson has been riding around Australia on a unicycle to raise money for breast cancer. There will be circus acts, roving performers, unicyclists and more in Carrington Place and the shop. Johnson has been dared to ride UP Katoomba St on the unicycle to raise $500 donation from Weirder the Better.

Leura CWA Hall Markets, Megalong St, Leura (9am to 4.30pm)

Blue Gum Rotary Markets, Faulconbridge Public School, Great Western Hwy (9am to 2pm)

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8

Blackheath Community Carols, Blackheath Community Hall and Park, Great Western Hwy (4.30pm to 8pm): This family afternoon out will begin with activities in the gardens for children and a Lions Club sausage sizzle. There will then be a carols concert at 6.30pm.

Arts Aid Bushfire Relief concert, Springwood Country Club, Hawkesbury Rd Springwood (2pm to 8pm): Local community groups, dance groups, musicians, schools, stalls to raise funds for the Blue Mountains Mayoral Relief Fund.

Grand View Markets, 174 Great Western Hwy, Wentworth Falls (9am to 2pm)

Blackheath Growers Markets, Blackheath Community Centre, Gardiner St and Great Western Hwy, Faulconbridge (7.30am to 11.30am)

Katoomba Mountain Craft Markets, St Canice’s Hall, Katoomba St, Katoomba (10am to 2pm)
