Children will discover the exciting grand backyard that is the Blue Mountains through an upcoming mini-series of Saturday Disney.

Filming of the program hosted by popular presenters Candice Dixon, Nathan Morgan and Teigan Nash was arranged through Blue Mountains Lithgow & Oberon Tourism, the official regional tourism organisation, and will be aired nationally during six different episodes.

The three presenters and four crew members spent three nights and four days in the region this week (Tuesday, February 25, to Friday, February 28).

Their adventures included cave tours, an abseiling Plughole Adventure and platypus spotting at Jenolan Caves and exploring children’s activities and experiences at Fairmont Resort MGallery at Leura including Segway Tours Blue Mountains which has a base at the resort.

The group also visited Scenic World at Katoomba and Nana’s Teddies & Toys at Blaxland and filmed some world-famous Blue Mountains locations such as Leura Mall.

All three presenters said the region was a gobsmackingly extraordinary destination and were surprised by the diversity and beauty of the world-famous landscape, attractions and experiences.

BMLOT chairman Daniel Myles said the visit and ensuing episode would be wonderful exposure for the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves.

“What a great opportunity to showcase this beautiful region to a whole new audience, not to mention the potential customer base for our tourism businesses.

“I also congratulate Saturday Disney for choosing to promote so many healthy nature-based pursuits for children.’’

The Saturday Disney mini-series featuring the Blue Mountains will be screened on Channel 7 soon.
